T4: TENKARA TIMES TRY TENKARA

The following video (made this morning) is the second part of the review of the Try Tenkara rod I published on May 25th.

The fishing conditions in the area are still pretty bad; very high and stained water, gusty winds day after day but my pleasure is intact. I have to adapt and have fun.

LEVIATHAN'S FOOTPRINTS

Tenkara is spreading worldwide and it is always a pleasure for me to discover new posts about this wonderful fishing technique.
Today I am glad to invite you to visit my friend Andy Wu's latest blog post.

TENKARA-NO-ONI KNOTS

I often receive mails from tenkara starters about the knots to be used to link the line to the rod, the tippet to the line and the fly to the tippet. This question often comes with lo-fi pictures or incomprehensible diagrams and I thought it was time for an adequate response.
This adequate, clear and definitive response was given by Masami Sakakibara aka Tenkara-no-Oni...

NEW TENKARA USA WEBSITE LAUNCHES

After several years of service the old Tenkara USA website has given way to the new TENKARA USA website.
I have visited it this morning and this is really awesome. The layout is even simple and more enjoyable than it was before and it is very easy to find what one can look for in the website contents. And we all know that this website is a good track for informations about tenkara.

With its blog, forum, awesome videos and online tackle shop the new TENKARA USA is just a must.

CHANGE AND CONTINUITY

There are gonna be changes in Tenkara Enso blog in the weeks and months to come.

I have decided to modify the layout to make the reading more comfortable and I hope I have succeeded.
Well, you are the readers so let me know about your feedback!

If you are in touch with me through Facebook you have perhaps realized that I stopped posting anything on fly fishing groups where there are some passionates but also too many close-minded and moralizing people. I think that fly fishers who are potentially interested in tenkara will spontaneously join this community so it is not worth wasting time with these groups.
I do not have free time enough to waste it with uninteresting people who, instead of minding their own business, always have an opinion about what other people do.

I started dealing with this theme a few weeks ago and in the future I will make articles about my fishing readings. I don't know yet what form these articles will have but it seems to me that this has to be a part of my blog because I have learnt a lot and still learn a lot about Tenkara from these readings.
Perhaps these "reviews" will be useful for someone to know what is really interesting and what is not, or less.
It has been a few months since I opened in a new shelf in my fishing library and it deals with fixed line techniques, mangas and more.

TENKARA ENSO is going to change but will be in the continuity of what has been done until now.

I take this opportunity to thank you, my dear readers, for your loyalty. Stay tuned!

HONDA FISHING CLUB

Some of you might be intrigued by the title of this post but don't worry, Tenkara Enso is not gonna change in a car tuning blog!

The world famous company invests in fishing and the famous Japanese blogger Takashi Yoshida is one of the hosts of the HONDA FISHING CLUB.

I invite you to watch the latest tying video he did release.

TENKARA TIMES "TRY 360 6:4 " ROD

I have been fishing for a while with this rod and I think that the time has come for an initial review of it, the new TENKARA TIMES "TRY 360 6:4".

Let's start with characteristics...The length is 366 cm and that is its exact theoretical length. The collapsed length is 57.5 cm for a weight of 62 grams.
The rod comes in an extensible cloth sock and a plastic tube but Tenkara Times offers aluminium tube as an option. The tip cap is made of wood with a rubber insert and the butt cap is made of plastic with a rubber insert. This butt cap is not knurled but slotted.

Like all Tenkara Times rods released to this day the blank is matt black with a purple touch and that makes these rods unique and easily recognizable. As usual with Tenkara Times rods the finish is very clean and without frills.

I was a bit surprised by the shape of the handle whose diameter is strongly reduced in its half but once I fished with it I did realize that it was very comfortable and that the multiple possible positions of the hand were good even though I have a personal preference for the "butt grip".

I have almost fished with this rod in bad conditions wether it was gusty wind, thunderstorms or flooding streams but she did not disappoint me at all. It is perfectly balanced and that is, in my opinion, more important than its weight, its action is crisp fast and powerful and it gave me very good sensations when catching trouts with it.
This rod works well with an angry trout at the end of the line that is determined not to visit your net!

I  fished a local stream with the TRY rod mainly in the fast parts and the rod did a great job. Give this rod a try with a size 3 level line and a soft hackle kebari and your enjoyment is assured!

That is a fact that TENKARA TIMES is going forward once again towards excellence.

You can purchase this excellent rod by clicking here

Disclaimer: I was not able to include a video to this review because of my camera memory card crash so I will post some video footage with this rood as soon as possible. Thanks for your comprehension.
